ADD YOUR HAND AND HEART, TOO!
"Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, My servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves Me" (John 12:26).
Church is a place where we learn to receive and give. Its work exists and grows because of people who voluntarily devote their time, skills, and knowledge to ministry. Helpers are needed everywhere. Come and help, too! Add your hand to the smallest work and it will become more perfect. Being faithful in little things will make you desire to take bigger responsibility.
Everything we do needs to grow and develop. When you come to help, you will find new friends, develop courage, skills, and gifts, as well as learn to love God and church more. And you will find out practically what it means to be blessed by the Father.
Do not be afraid and shy! This is your church, your second home. Put your hand and heart to its development! The pastor and the team of ministers will always be ready to support and help you! Ask, seek, and you will find!
YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE is limitless.
MYTHS THAT HINDER SERVING
THEY ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING. IT IS A CLOSED GROUP. THEY DO NOT WANT ANYTHING NEW. I WILL JUST CAUSE TROUBLE.
Ministries should be constantly growing, developing, and expanding. No ministry has reached perfection and it must not be isolated from others.
Yes, church ministries have certain Biblical standards as well as God given and pastor approved goals, basic duties, and inner rules that you must acquaint yourself with as you join this ministry. But these goals and rules are not stumbling blocks to the freshness and uniqueness which are brought by the creative spirit and individuality of every new person who wants to join a ministry with an open heart. (Of course, if that person leaves his selfish desires and ambitions at the door.)
I DO NOT HAVE TIME
"You will always have time for what is important for you but for things which mean little to you the time will always be short."
Do not say: „I have no time". Say: „I have other priorities," or: „I have no priorities. I do not have my church and I do not have the understanding of the importance of a strong church and my place in it." - and that will not be a lie.
Love sacrifices the most precious thing - time.
MINISTRY TAKES TOO MUCH TIME
Major reason for misfortunes is improper use of time.
You are master over you time. Decide how many hours a month you want to dedicate to ministry and then do it! Clearly define it for yourself, your family, and ministry. Do not confuse the time of your ministry with the time when somebody ministers to you. If you possess 168 hours a week that means you own 720 hours a month.
I believe that means you can always find 8 hours a month or 2 hours a week, if you use your time wisely.
I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO IT
"God is working with people who are working." Reinhard Bonnke
Start with what you know how to do and your skills and abilities will grow.
IT IS NOT MY CALLING FOR LIFE
"If things which are important to God are unimportant to you, that means things which are unimportant to God will be important to you."
If you are not faithful in little things (and things which are somebody else's), God will not give you your own. The "great things" usually reside in us together with our great ambitions. God trusts the faithful. Faithfulness can be seen and developed only in hardships, complications, and the test of time.
I CANNOT SERVE WITH JOY
"Church is like a family. You always have things to "cover" there." Vilnis Gleske
Ministry takes consistency, endurance, persistence, discipline, faithfulness, humbleness, love, forgiveness, faith. We learn them in difficulties but once they are acquired they help in the whole life.
"In great things people appear as others want to see them, in little things - as they truly are."
I AM AFRAID TO BE A FANATIC
Do not be afraid! Fear is not from God. Do not be a fanatic of TV, overeating, and waste of time! Do not be a fanatic of hypocrisy and sin!
The positive aspect of the word ‘fanatic' describes a person who is fully devoted to something. Actually we are still to grow a lot to receive such a compliment concerning Christ! But maybe it is worth trying, isn't it?
„No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money" (Luke 16:13).
If you have any questions, if you want to join a ministry or find out more about any of them, feel free to write us, call us, come to the church office or before or after the meeting come up to an usher and they will help you. See Contacts.
In order to help you find your place in some ministry and to get to know church and its leaders better, every third month we have "Acquaintance breakfast". Usually they happen on Saturdays at 10 AM in church café and all ministry leaders and the pastor can be met there. The breakfast price is 1.50 Ls.
